Terms of Use

Effective date: 31 August 2026 · Last updated: 9 September 2026

These terms cover your use of Voyarc: the website, the maps and animations it produces, the embeds and any paid features. Using Voyarc means you accept them.

Who you are dealing with

Voyarc is a registered Australian business name, operated from Victoria, Australia. Our ABN is quoted on invoices and receipts. Contact: [email protected]. "We" and "us" mean that operator; "you" means anyone using the service.

What Voyarc does

Voyarc maps great-circle flight routes, calculates distances and bearings, plays and exports animated route shows (PNG, MP4), turns routes into shareable /route/SYD-LHR links and live ?embed=1 embeds, and can import a flown flight track (FlightAware KML, GPX or Flightradar24 CSV) to compare against the geodesic. The map is free to use and needs no account.

Using Voyarc fairly

Please don't:

  • hammer the site, embeds or render endpoints with automated traffic;
  • work around export limits, the wordmark or paid-feature checks;
  • re-serve our map tiles or embeds as if they were your own service;
  • use Voyarc for anything unlawful, or present its output as official or operational aviation information.

We may limit or block use that damages the service or other people's use of it.

Your routes, your files

What you type stays yours. Route text is carried in the URL, so anyone you send a link to can see it: treat a route link as public. Every file you import (a route list, a logbook, or a flown track) is parsed entirely in your browser and is never uploaded to us. You are responsible for having the right to use any file you import: you confirm that it is yours to use, and that using it in Voyarc does not breach the terms of whoever supplied it.

Exports and what you may do with them

Every export carries an attribution line: Protomaps © OpenStreetMap, and NASA Earth Observatory for the Blue Marble and Black Marble imagery. It stays on every plan, because for OpenStreetMap-derived map data that is a licence condition, not a courtesy. Free exports also carry the Voyarc wordmark, and it stays too, as it does on a paid export whose maker chose to keep it. Cropping, blurring or painting it out is working around a paid feature. Otherwise you may share, publish and use exports anywhere, including commercially: in videos, posts and print. Don't edit exports to misstate distances or to imply an endorsement by us or by any airline, airport or data provider.

Data & credits

  • Airport data: OurAirports (public domain).
  • Map data: © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed ODbL, served as vector tiles built with Protomaps.
  • Route log fallback basemap: Natural Earth coastlines (public domain).
  • Premium imagery: NASA Earth Observatory (Blue Marble, Black Marble), public domain; NASA does not endorse Voyarc.

Not for navigation

Distances, bearings and paths are computed geodesics provided for illustration. Voyarc is not a flight-planning or navigation tool, is not certified for any aviation purpose, and must not be relied on for operational decisions.

Trademarks and independence

FlightAware, Flightradar24, FR24 and Google, and all airline, airport and aircraft names and marks belong to their respective owners. Voyarc is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them; their names are used only to describe data formats and destinations. Voyarc is our trademark.

Pro and paid features

Pro is a paid tier: exports without the wordmark at up to 4K, the Day and Night imagery and range rings in the file, whole-logbook import, and synced collections. It is sold as a monthly or a yearly subscription. A one-off Day Pass gives the same export features for 24 hours from payment, but it does not include saved collections or a synced logbook. Nothing is charged until you knowingly buy it, and the free features described above stay free.

  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
  • The price, the billing period and the renewal date are shown before you pay, and Stripe emails a receipt. No surprise renewals: subscriptions renew only on the stated cycle at the stated price, and we tell you before any price change.
  • You can cancel a subscription at any time; access continues to the end of the period you have paid for.
  • Pro can save collections and a logbook against your purchase. They hold route codes, counts, dates and the names you give them; you can export the logbook as CSV or delete everything from the Pro menu at any time, including for the 30 days after a subscription ends, when you can still read and delete what is saved but not add to it. We delete it automatically at the end of those 30 days. See the Privacy Policy.
  • Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing here limits those rights. If something is not delivered as described or has a major problem, you are entitled to a refund or a remedy under the ACL. Email us and we will sort it out.

Availability and liability

Voyarc is a small independent project offered as-is. Features, looks and limits can change, and the service may be interrupted for maintenance or by our hosting providers. Except for the consumer guarantees and other rights that cannot be excluded by law, our liability for any claim relating to Voyarc is limited, at our option, to resupplying the service or refunding what you paid for it in the previous twelve months.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of that state have jurisdiction. This does not take away any right you have to bring a claim where you live.

Changes

We may update these terms; the current version and its effective date always sit on this page. Continuing to use Voyarc after a change means you accept the updated terms. Questions: [email protected].
