Alaska Airlines takes Seattle/Everett Paine Field to Los Angeles to two flights a day, both on a larger Boeing 737. The release dates the change to this autumn without naming a day. It is part of a 50 per cent seat increase at Paine Field running to the summer of 2027.

Vietjet flew its first Moscow Sheremetyevo to Cam Ranh service on 23 September 2026 with 370 Russian tourists aboard. VJ5074 left Moscow at 00:25 and landed at Cam Ranh at 15:30 the same day. Russian airlines already serve Cam Ranh from Russia; this is the first such route flown by a Vietnamese carrier.

More than 34,000 extra seats on the only non-stop between the two
Jetstar will keep its seasonal Sunshine Coast to Cairns service running until October 2027, a year beyond the March 2027 end date it had filed. The route runs up to four return flights a week and pauses early next year before returning in late March. It is the only non-stop between the two airports.
Qantas' second Project Sunrise route, after Sydney to London in October 2027
Qantas has confirmed it will fly Sydney to New York without a stop from the middle of 2028, with tickets on sale from August 2027. The flight uses an Airbus A350-1000ULR carrying an extra 20,000-litre fuel tank and 238 seats across four cabins. It cuts more than three hours from the total journey against the airline's current daily one-stop service through Auckland.
Thai Vietjet Air puts a Boeing 737 MAX 8 on its daily Bangkok Suvarnabhumi to Mumbai flight from 1 October 2026, in place of an Airbus A320. It is the first 737 MAX the airline flies out of Bangkok. VZ760 leaves Bangkok in the evening and VZ761 returns from Mumbai after midnight.
Condor has cancelled the daily Berlin to Dubai service it had planned to open on 15 October 2026. Dubai comes out of the winter schedule from both Berlin and Stuttgart, which the airline puts down to conditions across the industry. Passengers already booked are being offered a rebooking or a refund.
Close to 16,000 passengers flew the route last season
Cathay Pacific will not resume its seasonal Cairns to Hong Kong service for the 2026-27 summer. The route ran three times a week over the December to February peak on an Airbus A330, and had been flying again since 2024. Cathay calls it a commercial decision rather than a demand problem, and has not ruled out bringing it back. Cairns passengers now connect through Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth or Adelaide.
Sichuan Airlines replaces the Airbus A320 with an A330 on Chengdu to Taipei Songshan, four flights a week from 25 October to 14 December 2026. The airline is also moving the route's flight numbers from the 3U39xx series to 3U83xx. Its Chengdu to Hong Kong service goes from an A320 to an A321 on the same date.
Frontier Airlines discontinues its Denver to Sioux Falls flights from 5 October 2026. Sioux Falls Regional Airport says it still hopes the service returns in March, with no update yet. Frontier is moving aircraft to Florida to cover routes left behind by Spirit Airlines, which stopped flying earlier in 2026.
Vietnam Airlines has filed a new Hanoi to Ahmedabad route, four flights a week from 25 October 2026. An Airbus A321 operates the service. The filing covers the northern winter 2026/27 season.
Cathay Pacific schedules a 428-seat Boeing 777-300 on its Saturday Hong Kong to Guangzhou flight from 25 October 2026. The CX982/983 pairing skips 7 and 14 November. The move is part of a wider expansion of 777-300 flying on mainland China routes for the northern winter, which also puts the type on Chengdu services on selected dates.
Aeroméxico adds Mexico City to Montego Bay from 18 March 2027, on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. A 166-seat Boeing 737 MAX 8 operates the route. It was announced alongside a new Mexico City to Nassau service, and seats are on sale while the route waits on government approval.
The first scheduled non-stop between Mexico and the Bahamas
Aeroméxico will fly Mexico City to Nassau from 19 March 2027, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. A 166-seat Boeing 737 MAX 8 operates the route as AM740 and AM741. It is the first scheduled non-stop service between the two capitals, and seats are on sale while the route still waits on government approval.
Fiji Airways has put Nadi to Nouméa back in its schedule, with the first flight on 22 September 2026. Fiji Link flies it twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, with an ATR 72-600.
Delta carried fewer than 100,000 passengers on the route in 2025
Delta's last New York JFK to Dallas Fort Worth flight is on 3 January 2027. The daily A220-100 round trip was built to feed the airline's transatlantic bank at JFK, which now has more than 225 peak-day departures of its own. Loads fell to 68 per cent in early 2026. Delta keeps five daily flights between Dallas and LaGuardia.
Thai Vietjet Air resumes Phuket to Mumbai on 25 October 2026, four flights a week on a Boeing 737 MAX 8. VZ762 leaves Phuket late in the evening and VZ763 returns from Mumbai overnight. The route comes back as part of the airline’s northern winter 2026/27 schedule, which also brings the 737 MAX to its Bangkok flying.
Riyadh Air’s first route to Italy
Riyadh Air opened reservations on 21 September 2026 for Riyadh to Milan Malpensa, starting 16 December 2026. The route runs four times a week on a Boeing 787-9. It is the airline’s first service to Italy.
Norse Atlantic Airways takes Rome Fiumicino to New York JFK out of its schedule for the northern winter. The three-times-weekly route is suspended from 25 October 2026 to 27 March 2027. It is part of a wider filing that leaves Norse without a New York service over the season, its London Gatwick flights to JFK going at the same time.
More than 35,400 extra seats, an 80 per cent rise on summer 2026
British Airways will fly St Louis to London Heathrow daily from 19 April to 28 June 2027 and again from 6 September to 30 October, with five flights a week either side from 28 March. The Boeing 787 stays on the route. BA opened St Louis on 19 April 2026 with four flights a week.
