KML and KMZ viewer
Open the line from a Google Earth export, a My Maps layer or a KMZ someone sent you, without installing Google Earth. A KMZ is unzipped right here in the page, and neither file leaves your device.
Your file is read on this device and never uploaded.

What it does, and what it does not
- Reads every LineString and every gx:Track in the file, in document order, with heights; a gx:Track’s times are read too.
- Opens a KMZ by finding doc.kml inside it, or the first KML when there is no doc.kml.
- Pins, polygons, folders, styles and descriptions are not shown: this draws the line and nothing else.
- Images, overlays and 3D models packed in a KMZ are never opened.
- Several lines in one file are drawn as one, joined end to end in the order the file lists them.
Questions
Why does my KML show no times?
Only a gx:Track carries times. A LineString, which is what My Maps and most drawing tools write, is a list of positions with no clock, so the distance and the heights show and the times do not.
What is the difference between KML and KMZ?
A KMZ is a KML zipped, often with the images its pins use. This reads the KML inside and leaves the rest of the archive alone.
Can I get a GPX out of it?
Yes: once the file is open, download it as GPX, or as GeoJSON. The line, its heights and any times go across.
