KMZ to GPX converter
A KMZ is a zipped KML, and most GPS apps will not open one: drop it here and the track inside comes out as a GPX. The archive is unpacked in this page, on your device, and nothing in it is sent anywhere.
Your file is read on this device and never uploaded.

What it does, and what it does not
- Unzips the KMZ and reads doc.kml, or the first KML inside when there is no doc.kml.
- Writes every line in that KML as one GPX 1.1 track, with heights and the times of a gx:Track.
- Images, icons, overlays and 3D models in the archive are ignored, and so are any other KML files inside it.
- A KMZ that only links to data on the web (a network link) has no line of its own to convert.
Questions
Why does my KMZ say it holds no KML?
The archive has no .kml file in it, or is damaged. Re-export it from Google Earth, or unzip it on your computer to see what it holds.
Can I just rename the .kmz to .kml?
No: a KMZ is a zip archive, so renaming it gives a file no app can read. It has to be unzipped, which this page does for you.
How large a KMZ can it open?
Up to 100 MB, and the KML inside may unpack to 100 MB too; anything larger is refused rather than read part way.
