TCX to GPX converter

Turn a TCX from Garmin Connect, a watch or a training app into a GPX that route planners, mapping apps and older GPS units read. It is converted in the page, so the workout is never uploaded to us or anyone else.

Your file is read on this device and never uploaded.

Then make it a film: Animate this route opens the track in Voyarc, which draws it on a real map and exports it as a video.

What it does, and what it does not

  • Writes every Trackpoint with a position as a GPX 1.1 track point, with its altitude and its time.
  • Runs the laps on as one track, in the order the file records them.
  • Heart rate, cadence, power, speed and calories are not written: the GPX carries the route and the clock only.
  • Lap splits are not kept, and points recorded without a position are skipped.

Questions

Will the GPX still upload as an activity?

The positions and times are all there, so an app that takes a GPX activity will place it on the right day and route. It will have no heart rate or power, because those are not carried across.

Why convert a TCX at all?

Many mapping and route apps read GPX and not TCX. GPX is the format nearly everything that handles tracks can open.

What name does the GPX get?

A TCX activity has no name, so the track is named after its sport, Running or Biking. You can rename the downloaded file however you like.
