Turn a Ride with GPS activity into a trip film
Ride with GPS calls a ride you recorded a trip and a ride you planned a route, and its website exports both, in several formats. Take the GPX track: it is the file every tool on this site opens first.
Export the track
- Sign in at ridewithgps.com on a computer and open the trip.
- Find Export among the trip’s actions.
- Choose GPX Track as the format and download it.
Menus move. If yours looks different, look for Export GPX or Download GPX.
Ride with GPS offers GPX, TCX, FIT and KML, among others. GPX, TCX and KML all play here; FIT is not read, so choose one of the other three.
Make the film
Drop the GPX track that Ride with GPS exported on the GPX viewer, and check its distance and climbing against the trip’s page. Press Animate this route, and the trip opens in the editor as a trip, its vehicle chosen from its recorded speed; a planned route has no times and starts as a hiker. The steps from there are the same for every app: From the track to the film.
Drop the file on the viewer, check it, and press Animate this route. No account, and nothing to install.

What about a route rather than a trip?
Routes export the same way. A route has no times, so Voyarc cannot read its speed and starts it as a hiker: open the scene in the story and pick the bicycle.
Whether the file is uploaded, how several files make one film and how to hide a private start are answered once for every app: questions every app shares.
